POVERTY

DALLAS HAS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING POVERTY RATES IN THE COUNTRY.

Dallas has one of the highest and fastest growing poverty rates in the country. To be proactive, experts have identified a 3-pronged approach they believe gives people the best chance of becoming financially stable. The even better news is that the Church can play a huge role in the solution.

Best practice poverty interventions are moving towards a model that includes financial coaching which has been shown to encourage positive behaviors of clients in terms of use of mainstream banking, consistent saving, reduction in debt, and improved credit scores, in addition to a reduction of stress and increased confidence in financial future.
